<\/figure>\n\n\n\nWie immer geht es als erstes zur U-Bahn. Aber man kann sich in Barcelona auch sehr gut mit dem Rad fortbewegen, selbst wenn man selber keines hat. Wir haben sehr viele solche Stationen gesehen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As always, first we walk to the subway. But in Barcelona you can also travel around very well on a bicycle, even if you yourself don’t own one. We have spotted quite a few of these sites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unser Heimflug wird heute kurz nach sechs Uhr nachmittags sein. Also haben wir als erstes eine Gep\u00e4ckstation angesteuert, haben dort das Rollk\u00f6fferchen und den Laptop eingesperrt und sind dann los Richtung Montju\u00efc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Our flight back home will be this afternoon shortly after six. So first of all we headed for a luggage storage place, left our little trolley and the laptop there and then got going in the direction of Montju\u00efc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Das ist eine Region im S\u00fcden der Stadt, ein gr\u00fcner Fleck auf dem Stadtplan. Dort fand die Weltausstellung 1929 statt, und die olympischen Spiele 1992 wurden hier er\u00f6ffnet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n That is a region in the South of the city, a green spot on the city map. There, the World Fair of 1929 took place, and the Olympic Games of 1992 were started here as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Unser Tag auf dem „Berg“ Montju\u00efc (173m \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel) beginnt schon mit einer spannenden Anreise. Zun\u00e4chst mit der Zahnradbahn, die sogar zum \u00d6PNV geh\u00f6rt, also mussten wir nicht mal gesondert daf\u00fcr zahlen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our day on the „mountain“ Montju\u00efc (173m above sea level) already began with an exciting journey to get there. On the way there only one of us got distracted …<\/p>\n\n\n\n Auf den anderen Kanonen durfte man nicht herumklettern. – Nicht, dass das irgenjemand gewollt h\u00e4tte …!<\/p>\n\n\n\n On the other canons you were not allowed to climb around. – Not that anybody would have wanted to …!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hier seht Ihr \u00fcbrigens den Eingang. \u00dcber die Br\u00fccke sind wir hereingekommen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Here you can see the entry by the way. We got into the place via that bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Aber hier nun endlich der versprochene Blick runter aufs Wasser, riesige Hafenanlagen und Massen an Containern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But here now finally the promised view down to the water, huge harbour facilities and masses of containers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ein riesengro\u00dfes Areal, das kein Ende zu haben scheint …<\/p>\n\n\n\n A seemingly endless area of enormous size …<\/p>\n\n\n\n Aber wenden wir uns dem Gem\u00e4uer zu. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But let us turn to these old walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde die Festung das haupts\u00e4chliche Milit\u00e4rgef\u00e4ngnis der Stadt. Hier wurde zum Beispiel der Lehrer Francisco Ferrer inhaftiert, dem vorgeworfen wurde, w\u00e4hrend der „Tragischen Woche“ den Aufstand angef\u00fchrt zu haben. Er wurde hier am 13.10.1909 hingerichtet. (ganz kurz: Streiks und Demonstrationen der Arbeiterklasse nach Einberufung von 40.000 Reservisten zum Marokkokrieg)<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the 19th century, the fortress was used as the main military prison of the city. The teacher Francisco Ferrer was jailed here for example. He was accused of having led the rebellion during the „Tragic Week“. He was executed here 13.10.1909. (in short: strikes and demonstrations by the working class after 40.000 reservists had been called to support the war in Morocco)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wir sind die G\u00e4nge einfach mal abgelaufen und haben all diese Mauern auf uns wirken lassen. Die Festung fand ihren Anfang wohl im November 1640: 500 B\u00fcrger kletterten damals auf den Montju\u00efc, um den alten Aussichtsturm dort zu befestigen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We simply walked along the corridors a bit and let all these walls „speak to us“. It seems the fortress had its beginning in November 1640: back then 500 citizens climbed the Montju\u00efc, to fortify the old look-out tower there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n 1640-1659 war der „Aufstand der Schnitter“. Die katalanische Bev\u00f6lkerung war gezwungen, kastilische Truppen zu beherbergen, und klagte \u00fcber religi\u00f6se \u00dcbergriffe, Vergewaltigungen, Zerst\u00f6rung von Privateigentum. Der Tod eines Schnitters an Fronleichnam 1640 war der Ausl\u00f6ser der Unruhen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n 1640-1659 the „Reapers‘ War“ took place. The Catalan population was forced to house Castilian troups, and was increasingly complaining about religious sacrileges, rapes, destruction of private property. The death of a reaper on Corpus Christi day 1640 finally triggered the riots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00dcbrigens: die katalanische Nationalhymne Els Segadors (Die Schnitter) wurzelt in diesen Ereignissen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By the way: the Catalan national anthem Els Segadors (The Reapers) has its basis in this revolt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Aber zur\u00fcck zu unseren 500 B\u00fcrgern: Sie bauten eine quadratische Ebene mit vier T\u00fcrmen und einem Graben au\u00dfen herum und einer gesch\u00fctzten Stra\u00dfe hinunter in die Stadt. In wenig mehr als einem Monat schufen sie aus dem Nichts eine Festung, die Schauplatz der ber\u00fchmten Schlacht von Montju\u00efc war, 26.01.1641. Damals wurden die Truppen von Philip IV. deutlich geschlagen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n But back to our 500 citizens: They built a square platform with four bastions and a moat around it and an entrenched road down to the city. In little over a month they improvised a fortress that was the place of the famous Battle of Montju\u00efc, 26.01.1641. In that, Philip IV’s troops were heavily defeated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n W\u00e4hrend des Franco-Regimes wurde die Festung \u00fcbrigens auch wieder als Gef\u00e4ngnis und Hinrichtungsst\u00e4tte genutzt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the Franco regime the fortress was once again used as a prison and as a site for executions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Wir ziehen jetzt weiter … dieses Mal zu Fu\u00df unter der Seilbahn durch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We will now travel on … this time on foot below the cable cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Immer wieder hat man hier einen wunderbaren Blick \u00fcber die Stadt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Again and again you enjoy a beautiful view across the city here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Und um uns herum waren wir herrlich im Gr\u00fcnen, da gab es auch hier und da schicke Insekten zu sehen. Hier zum Beispiel ein „Mauerfuchs“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And close around us there was all this wonderful green, and there we also saw pretty insects here and there. Here for example a „wall“. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Nat\u00fcrlich auch die sch\u00f6nen schwarzen Bienen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Of course also the pretty black bees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dann wieder der Blick \u00fcber die Stadt: Wir kommen allm\u00e4hlich zum Olympia-Gel\u00e4nde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then again a look at the city: We come ever closer to the Olympic compound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Der 136m hohe Fernsehturm wurde auch anl\u00e4sslich der Spiele errichtet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The 136m high television tower was also errected on the occasion of the Games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wir sind aber erst einmal vorbeigelaufen, denn das hier ist unser n\u00e4chstes Ziel:<\/p>\n\n\n\n But we walked past all that for now, because this here is our next destination:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Um uns herum immer noch ganz viel Gr\u00fcn, ganz viel Ruhe, ganz viel Leben, V\u00f6gel und Insekten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All around us still lots of green, lots of peace and quiet, lots of live, birds and insects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Ein bisschen n\u00e4her sieht es so aus: <\/p>\n\n\n\n A little bit closer it looks like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dies ist ein riesiger Friedhof! Unten im Bild seht Ihr eine der etlichen Bushaltestellen, die es auf dem Gel\u00e4nde gibt …<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is a huge cemetery! On the picture below you can see one of the several bus stops that you can find on the compound … <\/p>\n\n\n\n Wir sind hier eine ganze Weile herumgelaufen. Lauter Stra\u00dfen und Abzweigungen ges\u00e4umt von diesen „Regalen“ von Gr\u00e4bern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We walked around here for quite a while. Lots of streets and side roads bordered by these „shelves“ of graves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nur ganz oben auf dem H\u00fcgel sieht es dann mehr so aus, wie wir es von Friedh\u00f6fen gewohnt sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Only at the very top of the hill it looks more like what we are used to from cemeteries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hier liegt \u00fcbrigens der Maler Joan Mir\u00f3 begraben. Und Hans Gamper, ein Schweizer Fu\u00dfballspieler und Gr\u00fcndungsmitglied des FC Barcelona. Irgendwo … wir haben nicht nach bestimmten Gr\u00e4bern gesucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n By the way, the painter Joan Mir\u00f3 is to be found here. And Hans Gamper, a Swiss football player and one of the founders of the FC Barcelona. Somewhere … we did not search for specific graves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dieses „H\u00e4uschen“ war auch oben auf dem Berg. Keine Ahnung, wozu das da ist … <\/p>\n\n\n\n This little „house“ was also at the top of the mountain. No idea what it is for … <\/p>\n\n\n\n … aber nach irgendetwas wird da wohl gegraben?<\/p>\n\n\n\n … but it looks like they are digging for something there?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naja, genug Friedhof. Jetzt sehen wir uns das Olympiagel\u00e4nde an. Wir sind einfach mehr oder weniger Luftlinie gelaufen …<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oh well, enough cemetery. Now we will take a closer look at the Olympic grounds. We pretty much walked as the crow flies … <\/p>\n\n\n\n … und das war die beste Idee. Hier war es noch ruhiger, auf diesem versteckten Weg gab es wirklich nur uns und die Tiere und Pflanzen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n … and that was the best idea. Here is was even more quiet, on this hidden path it was really just us and the animals and the plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hier sind wir dann ein bisschen herumgewandert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And here we then wandered around a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wieder mal bei sch\u00f6nstem Sonnenschein. Mehr Gl\u00fcck mit dem Wetter h\u00e4tten wir f\u00fcr unseren Kurzaufenthalt wirklich nicht haben k\u00f6nnen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Once again in beautiful sunshine. We really could not have had any more luck with the weather for our short vacation!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hier seht Ihr das supersch\u00f6ne Olympiastadion in seiner ganzen Pracht. – Seinen Ursprung hat auch dieses Geb\u00e4ude in der Weltausstellung 1929. Dort fanden die Er\u00f6ffnungs-, die Schlussfeier und die Leichtathletik-Wettk\u00e4mpfe statt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here you see the beautiful Olympic stadium in all its glory. – The origins of this building also lie in the World Fair of 1929. There the opening and closing ceremonies and the athletics competitions all took place here. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Und so sieht es von innen aus: (nicht ganz so aufregend …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n And this is what it looks like from the inside: (not all that exciting …)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naja, wir sind alles einmal abgelaufen, so viel zu sehen gab es da ja nicht. Und dann hatten wir immer noch eine ganze Menge Zeit \u00fcbrig, also haben wir uns auch noch den botanischen Garten angesehen, der ist auch auf dem „Hausberg“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Well, we walked once all around the area, but there was not all that much to see. And then we still had quite a bit of time left, so we decided to take a look at the botanical garden, that is also situated on the „local mountain“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Und auch da waren wir wohl ziemlich alleine … wir haben nur ein paar Angestellte getroffen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n And there as well we had the feeling we were pretty much alone … we only met a few employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Grevillea johnsonii – ein Busch aus Australien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Grevillea johnsonii – a bush native to Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Verschiedene Eukalyptus-Arten:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Different types of eucalyptus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Diese hier fanden wir besonders h\u00fcbsch. Ganz rechts seht Ihr, wie es aussieht, bevor die Bl\u00fcten sich \u00f6ffnen. Dann \u00f6ffnet sich die Kappe und was man sieht ist wie ein Becher mit Strohhalm, links oben. Und dann entfaltet sich die ganze Bl\u00fcte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n These here we thought were especially pretty. On the far right you see what it looks like before the blooms open. Then the cap opens and what you then see looks like a cup with a straw, upper left. And then the whole flower unfolds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Zwischendrin haben wir immer mal wieder einen Blick auf die Stadt geworfen. Es war unwirklich, dass die Geb\u00e4ude so nah waren, denn zwischen all den Pflanzen f\u00fchlten wir uns wie am Ende der Welt – es war so unglaublich ruhig (bis auf das Vogelgezwitscher).<\/p>\n\n\n\n In between we glanced over at the city here and there. That really felt unreal, the buildings being so close, because between all these plants, we felt as if we were at the end of the world – it was so incredibly quiet (except for the birds chirping).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Und nat\u00fcrlich waren neben den V\u00f6geln viele Bienen da.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And of course apart from the birds there were many bees around as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zum Beispiel an der Wachsblume, cerinthe major. Tolle Farben, nicht wahr?<\/p>\n\n\n\n For example on the honeywort, cerinthe major. Greta colours, don’t you think?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zwischen all diesen Bl\u00fcten, im hellen Sonnenschein und der W\u00e4rme haben wir eigentich gar keine Lust, heute wieder ins k\u00fchle, graue Bremen zu fliegen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Between all these flowers, in the bright sunshine and the warmth, we don’t really feel like flying back to cold and grey Bremen today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Zum Abschied ist uns noch ein kleines Highlight geg\u00f6nnt: Ein Taubenschw\u00e4nzchen. Sehr emsig und schnell unterwegs, wir hatten Gl\u00fcck, dass wir ihn auf einem Foto festhalten konnten. Der Saugr\u00fcssel hat eine L\u00e4nge von 25 bis 28mm! Wie Kolibris fliegen sie von Bl\u00fcte zu Bl\u00fcte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Before leaving we were allowed one last little highlight: A hummingbird hawk-moth. Very diligent and fast moving, we were very lucky to actually get it caught on camera. The proboscis has a length of 25 to 28mm! Like little hummingbirds they fly from flower to flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tja … das wars, leider. Jetzt sind wir vor lauter Insekten-Schauen sp\u00e4t dran, ab zum Flughafen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Well … that was it, unfortunately. Now after all the insect watching, we are actually a bit late, so off to the airport now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Wir sind wieder mit der Lufthansa geflogen … In einem etwas \u00e4lteren Design, aus den 60ern oder so?! <\/p>\n\n\n\n We flew with Lufthansa again … in a rather older design, from the 60s or so?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n K\u00f6nnte das der Grund sein, warum beim Aussteigen die Lichter ausgingen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Might that be why when we wanted to leave the plane, the lights went off?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fazit: Barcelona ist eine tolle Stadt, es gibt eine Menge zu sehen und wir haben nur einen Bruchteil davon geschafft – wir kommen wieder!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Conclusion: Barcelona is a fantastic city, there is lots and lots to see, and we have only managed a very small part of that – we will come back!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Unser letzter Tag in Barcelona, leider, leider.
