Heute sind wir erst mal Richtung Rathaus gelaufen (am Ende der Stra\u00dfe sieht man die Seitenansicht). Hier gibt es ein wundersch\u00f6nes Geb\u00e4ude nach dem n\u00e4chsten!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we first walked towards the city hall (at the end of the street you see it from the side). There are just so many gorgeous buildings here, one after the other!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zuerst sind wir am Justizpalast vorbei und am Parlament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First we passed the house of justice and the parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vielleicht war der Goldschmuck fr\u00fcher \u00fcberall zu sehen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe in former times these golden applications went all around?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alles gigantisch, viele Figuren und Brunnen und … soviel kriegt man auf kein Bild. Also gehen wir weiter und halten uns an kleinere Motive:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is all gigantic, lots of statues and fountains and \u2026 you cannot get it all on a photo. So we walk on and look for smaller motifs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Es gibt in der Wiener Innenstadt Ampeln, die Vielfalt zeigen … 2015 wurden sie im Rahmen des Eurovision Song Contest aufgestellt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In downtown Vienna there are traffic lights that show diversity \u2026 they were put up 2015 in connection with the Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Und dann sind wir beim Rathaus. Davor findet das Wiener Filmfestival statt \u2013 deswegen die Tische und Buden und so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then we reached the city hall. In front of it the Vienna Film Festival is taking place \u2013 thus all the tables and stalls and such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Auf jeden Fall ein tolles Geb\u00e4ude!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In any case a magnificent building!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir sind weiter mit der Stra\u00dfenbahn. Dann mussten wir in die U-Bahn, an der Haltestelle hab ich das hier entdeckt:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We traveled on with a tram. Then we had to change to the subway, at the stop I discovered this here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Und dann hatten wir die Station Hietzing erreicht. Hier wurde speziell f\u00fcr den Kaiser ein eigener Zugang gebaut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then we reached the station Hietzing. Here just for the emperor, they built a separate entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaiser Franz Josef war aber nur zweimal hier. Schade, allein die Decke ist schon prachtvoll!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emperor Franz Josef was here only twice though. Too bad, even just the ceiling is magnificent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir sind dann weiter gelaufen in Richtung Schloss Sch\u00f6nbrunn. Vorbei am Palmenhaus …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then walked on in the direction of the palace Sch\u00f6nbrunn. Past the palm house \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 durch den botanischen Garten \u2026 Habe ich erw\u00e4hnt, dass es unglaublich hei\u00df war? Da verrutscht sogar das Foto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

… through the botanical garden … Did I mention that it was unbelievably hot? In such conditions even the photo slips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir haben also im Tirolergarten erst einmal Mittagspause gemacht. Hier in der Gegend bekamen fr\u00fcher die jungen Erzherz\u00f6ge den ersten Jagdunterricht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we took a lunch break at the restaurant Tirolergarten. This is the area where in the old times the young archdukes got their first hunting lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Einer von uns hatte Huhn … aber nicht so eines, oder? So ein Seidenhuhn kann \u00fcbrigens nicht fliegen und hat f\u00fcnf Zehen, eine mehr als andere H\u00fchner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of us had chicken \u2026 but not one of these, surely? Such a silkie chicken is unable to fly, by the way, and they have five toes, one more than other chicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir sind dann weiter. Erst oben auf dem H\u00fcgel zur Gloriette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then went on. First to the Gloriette at the top of the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da wurde eine aufwendige Hochzeit gefeiert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where an elaborate wedding was celebrated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Von hier sieht man runter auf das Schloss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From here you can look down to the palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aber erst kommt man noch am prunkvollen Neptunbrunnen vorbei …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first you pass the pompous Neptune fountain \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hier und da haben sich mal Wolken vor die Sonne geschoben. Aber es war einfach hei\u00df, hei\u00df, hei\u00df.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every once in a while a cloud would cover the sun. But it was just hot, hot, hot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gut, dass all die Blumen bew\u00e4ssert werden m\u00fcssen. Auch wenn das Wasser im ersten Moment recht kalt war!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good thing that all the flowers need to be watered. Even if the water at first was quite cold!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wir sind dann auch wieder weiter. \u2013 Wie es gr\u00fcn wurde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We traveled on finally. \u2013 When it switched to green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nach einer Pause in der Unterkunft sind wir abends wieder zum Rathaus. Und dieses Mal habe ich in der N\u00e4he auch endlich den \u201eWehrmann in Eisen\u201c gefunden: Die Figur wurde zuerst 1915 aufgestellt. Wer etwas spendete f\u00fcr die Witwen und Waisen des Weltkrieges, durfte einen Nagel in die Figur schlagen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a break in our lodging we once again went to the city hall in the evening. And this time in the vicinity, I finally found the \u201cWehrmann in Eisen\u201d (Private in Iron): This sculpture was first erected in 1915. Those who donated money for the widows and orphans of the world war, was allowed to drive a nail into the sculpture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Und dann haben wir uns hingesetzt und klassische Musik geh\u00f6rt. In Kitzb\u00fchel wurde live gespielt und gesungen \u2013 verschiedene Opernarien und auch leichtere Musik \u2013 und das wurde zu uns \u00fcbertragen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And then we sat down and listened to classical music. In Kitzb\u00fchel they played and sung live \u2013 different opera arias and also some light music \u2013 and that was broadcast to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
