Okay, so this time in our own car. First along the autobahn towards Hamburg, and then …
… wunderschöne ruhige Straßen entlang, mit den Bäumen eng an der Straße, richtig verwunschen.
… down wonderfully quiet streets, with the trees close to the roadway, almost enchanted.
Aber es war ein langer Weg … 99.999km haben wir erreicht und überschritten!
But it was a long way … we reached 99.999km and passed it!
Und dann haben wir endlich die Ecke Deutschlands erreicht, die wir uns ansehen wollen:
And then finally we reached that corner of Germany that we want to take a look at:
Hier gibt es natürlich unheimlich viele Seen, aber auch viel anderes zu sehen. Bäume (die hatten wir ja schon) und vor allem Vögel!
[Mecklenburg lake district] Here you find endlessly many lakes, of course, but there is also much else to be seen. Trees (yes, we had that already) and mainly: birds!
Und wie bestellt, am Straßenrand:

Ein Mäusebussard, meinen wir.
A common buzzard, we think.
Leider ist er dann davongeflogen, und wir mussten sowieso weiterfahren, da gab es außer uns doch noch mehr Autos …
Unfortunately it flew off then, and we had to get going anyhow, after all there were a few more cars than just ours …
Ja, und wo fahren wir genau hin?

Neustrelitz, genau! Auch wenn Schwarz näher war, aber das klang so dunkel …

Und da sind wir schon. Das ist unser Hotel.
And there we are, this is our hotel.

Wir sind natürlich gleich wieder los, Vögel gucken … Spatzen gibt es hier schon einmal (in Bremen sehen wir kaum mehr welche).
Of course we left again right away, bird watching … sparrows they do have here (in Bremen we hardly ever see any anymore).
Das Hotel liegt fast direkt am Wasser, auf dem Weg haben wir Frösche gehört.
The hotel is very close to the water, and along the way we heard the frogs.
Habe ich schon erwähnt, dass wir nach anfänglichem Regen auf der Fahrt ganz wunderbares Wetter hatten?
Did I mention already that after a bit of rain at the beginning of our travel, we had absolutely wonderful weather?
Aber wir wollten ja Vögel gucken. Wie wäre es hiermit?
But we wanted to watch birds. So how about this one?

This great crested grebe just caught a fish.
