Wir haben Tränen gelacht und nach Luft gejappst! Es war absolut herrlich!!!
We laughed tears and were gasping for air! It was just wonderful!!!
Und danach war der Abend ja noch vorbei, also gings ab zu Covent Garden. Hatten wir einen Spaß – eine gute halbe Stunde haben wir mitgesungen.
And after that the evening was long from over, so we went to Covent Garden. Did we ever have fun – for a good half hour we sang along.
Aber irgendwann war es auch damit vorbei …

… also sind wir zum Trafalgar Square gelaufen.

Hier gibt es Londons kleinste Polizeistation. Gebaut in den 1920ern und heutzutage leider nicht mehr in Benutzung.
And here you find London’s smallest police station. Built in the 1920s and these days unfortunately not in use anymore.
Klar, über all dem steht Admiral Nelson, aber hinter seinem Rücken …

… sind auf einem Sockel wechselnde Kunstwerke zu sehen. Aktuell „Antelope“ von Samson Kambalu, welches John Chilembwe zeigt, einen antikolonialistischen Pastor, der 1915 eine Revolte gegen die britische Herrschaft im heutigen Malawi anführte,
… on a plinth you see changing artwork. At the moment on display is “Antelope” by Samson Kambalu, which shows John Chilembwe, an anticolonial pastor, who 1915 lead a revolt against the British authorities in what is today Malawi.
Was wir auch gefunden haben: traditionelle britische Maße. Seit 1876 sind die hier zu sehen.

So, und jetzt geht es zurück in die Unterkunft. In den U-Bahn-Stationen von London findet man solche „Labyrinthe“. Die wurden 2013 von dem Künstler Mark Wallinger erstellt, um an das 150jährige Bestehen der Londoner „Tube“ zu erinnern.
