Wir sind wieder in die Nähe der Story Bridge gefahren. Dort hat uns gleich ein junger Graurücken-Krähenwürger mit seinem Gesang begrüßt.
We drove again to the area near the Story Bridge. There we were welcomed by the singing of a young grey butcherbird.
Wir sind dann zur Kangaroo Point Bridge. Die wurde erst am 15. Dezember eröffnet!
We then walked to the Kangaroo Point Bridge. That was opened only on 15 December!
Die Brücke ist nur für Fußgänger und Radfahrer und was noch so dazu passt.
The bridge is only for pedestrians and cyclists and whatever else fits with that.
Von hier hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Story Bridge.
From here you get a good view of the Story Bridge.

Wir sehen uns heute den botanischen Garten an.
Today we will visit the Botanic Gardens.
Da haben wir eine Menge gefunden: von ganz winzig …

… bis sehr groß für deutsche Verhältnisse.

Von einfarbig ,,,

… zu bunt.

Da ist man irgendwann platt!

Also, wir fanden den Botanischen Garten toll!
So, we very much enjoyed the Botanic Gardens!
Dann sind wir weiter. Vorbei am Old Government House.
Then we walked on. Past the Old Government House.
Auch am Parliament House.
Also past Parliament House.
Und an anderen interssanten Gebäuden.
And other interesting buildings.
Hier wird eine neue U-Bahn-Station gebaut.
Here they are building a new metro station.
In einer Einkaufsstraße haben wir eine tolle Graffiti-Wand entdeckt.
In a shopping district we discovered a gorgeous graffiti wall.
Weiter zur Stadthalle, eröffnet am 8. April 1930.
On to the City Hall, opened 8 April 1930.
Die Eingangshalle ist sehr schön.
The lobby is very pretty.
Im dritten Stock ist das Museum of Brisbane. Da gab es ein bisschen Geschichte, ein bisschen Kunst …
On the third floor you find the Museum of Brisbane. There you find a bit of history, a bit of art …
… und einen herrlichen Saal.
… and a gorgeous hall.
Wir wären gerne auch auf den Turm hoch, doch das war ausgebucht. Also haben wir uns draußen noch ein paar Denkmäler angesehen: Das Petrie Tableau von 1988.
We would have liked to also go up on the tower, but that was fully booked. So we took a look at a few monuments outside: The Petrie Tableau from 1988.

Und das hier ist Emma Miller (1839 – 1917), die für das Frauenwahlrecht kämpfte und auch gewerkschaftlich tätig war.
And this here is Emma Miller (1839 – 1917) who was fighting for the vote for women and was also a trade unionist.
Und dann ging es zurück zum Auto.
And then we walked back to the car.
Zurück bei unserer Unterkunft sind wir hoch aufs Dach.
Back at our lodging we went up to the roof.
Wenn es dunkel ist, wollen wir wiederkommen … aber dann kam das Gewitter. Fast zwei Stunden hat es ununterbrochen geblitzt.
Once it gets dark, we want to come back … but then the thunderstorm came. For almost two hours there was incessant lightning.
Aber irgendwann war auch das vorbei … der Sicherheitsmann kam zwar sofort, als wir oben auf dem Dach waren (man darf nur bis 22:00 Uhr hier hoch), aber dann meinte er, wenn wir nur Fotos machen, ist das okay. – Die Story Bridge leuchtet gerade lila.
But eventually that was over as well … the security officer showed up right away when we were up on the roof (you are only allowed up there until 10 p.m.), but then he said, if we only take photos, not to worry. – The Story Bridge is all purple right now.
So, jetzt gehen wir runter – sie bleibt hier.
