Heute haben wir einen schönen Ausflug gemacht. Aber zunächst sind wir nur bis zur Auffahrt gekommen. Hier trainiert nämlich die Rugby 7 Mannschaft von Fidji! Da mussten wir natürlich ein wenig zusehen …
Today we did a nice excursion. But at first we only got as far as the driveway. Because the rugby 7 team of Fiji has its training here! Of course we had to watch for a bit …
Aber dann sind wir wirklich los: Richtung Suva. Die Stadt selber haben wir nur am Rand „geschnitten“. Und zuerst mussten wir sowieso unterwegs noch wo halten … Irgendso ein Amt oder so … Da wurde wohl jemand beim zu schnell Fahren erwischt … (ein Tipp: Torben war es nicht ;-( ) Da musste jemand dann 25 Fidji-Dollar zahlen …
But then we really got going: In the direction of Suva. The city itself we only touched marginally. And first we anyhow had to stop somewhere along the way … Some government office or so … Seems somebody was caught speeding … (a hint: it was not Torben ;-( ) Somebody then had to pay 25 Fiji dollars …
Das eigentliche Ziel war: Colo-I-Suva, ein Naturschutzgebiet. Wir haben eine kleine Wanderung durch sehr dichten Regenwald gemacht.
Our real destination was: Colo-I-Suva, a nature reserve. We did a little hike through very dense rainforest.
Es gibt da jede Menge Teiche, dazwischen viele Wasserfälle, sehr schön!
There are lots of pools, in between lots of waterfalls, very pretty!
Die Wege waren spannend, zum Teil über Wurzeln, durch Schlamm, durchs Wasser, oder über seltsame Metallbrücken.
The paths were quite interesting, sometimes you stepped over roots, through mud, through the water or over weird metal bridges.
Und natürlich haben wir auch hier eine Spinne entdeckt, sonst wäre der Tag ja nicht komplett gewesen …
And of course we did discover a spider here as well, otherwise the day would not have been complete …

And for those who don’t like spiders all that much, here a butterfly. Both pictures are of the same animal. Fascinating, isn’t it?
Am Schluss haben wir noch wunderschöne Orchideen gesehen und gerochen. Ein toller Duft!
At the end we also saw and smelled beautiful orchids. A wonderful fragrance!
