Dann sind wir an der Stadtmauer runter … es gibt hier so viele schöne Wege, und vor allem so viel Grün! Man hat auch das Gefühl, hier dürfen die Pflanzen wachsen, überall!
Then we went down by the city wall … there are so many nice paths here, and especially so much green everywhere! You get the feeling that here plants are just allowed to grow wherever they want!
Wir hatten noch eine Weile Zeit, also sind wir etwas herumgelaufen.
We had some spare time, so we walked around a bit.

Wir sind nämlich durch den „Aquatunnel“. Zuletzt war der 2011 für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Aktuell werden hier von Susan Philipsz eingesungene Töne abgespielt.
Because we went through the “Aquatunnel”. That had last been opened to the public in 2011. Currently, sounds sung by Susan Philipsz are played here.
Wir hatten so ein Glück, wir waren nur wir zwei und die beiden jungen Damen, die uns durch den Tunnel geführt haben. Zunächst war der für die Kanalisation gebaut worden, 1961-1963, später auch als Luftschutzraum genutzt. Es gibt hier und da winzige Stalaktiten.
We were so lucky, it was only the two of us and the two young ladies who guided us through the tunnel. It had originally been built for sewage, 1961-1963, later it was also used as a bomb shelter. Here and there you find tiny stalactites.
Wieder draußen sind wir zur tollen Adolphe-Brücke, wie man sieht, ist da unten ein Weg angebaut.
Once back outside, we went to the great Adolphe bridge, as you can see there is a path added at the bottom.
Da gibt es Spuren für Radler und für Fußgänger.
There you have lanes for cyclists and for pedestrians.
Eine schöne Brücke! Sie wurde 1900-1903 gebaut und war damals die größte Steinbogenbrücke der Welt.
A pretty bridge! It was built 1900-1903 and back then it was the largest stone arch bridge of the world.
Wir gehen jetzt aber in ein anderes spannendes Bauwerk: die Pétrusse-Kasematten.
But we will now enter another interesting construction: the Pétrusse casemates.
Auch die Kasematten dienten als Luftschutzkeller. Hier waren die Latrinen.
The casemates as well were used as bomb shelters. Here you see the latrines. (“Don’t forget the sand.”)
Wo immer die Lampen tief installiert sind, wachsen Pflanzen!
Wherever the lamps are installed down low, there are plants growing!

Gestern hatten wir schon die ersten zwei entdeckt: Es gibt 13 dieser Kunstwerke von James Straffon, die er erstellte, weil 2017 die Tour de France nach Luxemburg kam.
Yesterday already we discovered the first two: There are 13 of these pieces of art by James Straffon, who made them because 2017 the Tour de France came to Luxembourg.
Wir haben hinter Notre Dame dann erst mal etwas gegessen. Bei erst 33°C, später hat die Anzeige von 37°C gesprochen! Naja, wir haben den Flugzeugen zugesehen.
