So, das wars dann auch schon fast. Wir haben heute morgen alles gepackt, unser Gepäck beim Hauptbahnhof eingesperrt und dann sind wir los, noch ein paar letzte Sachen anzusehen. Kurz vor zehn Uhr morgens war es schon 28°C warm! Also sind wir unter eine Brücke?
Well, and now this trip is almost over already. We packed all our stuff this morning, locked our luggage away at the main station and then we head off to look at a few last things. Shortly before ten in the morning it was already very warm with 28°C! So we went below a bridge?

Schon toll, wie das in den Fels gebaut ist. Hier ging es eigentlich um eine Heilquelle, und Dach und so weiter kamen erst später dazu.
It is great how this is built into the rock. Originally this place was all about a holy well, and roof and all that were added later on.
Wir sind dann mit dem Bus hierher gefahren, zum alten Bahnhof Hollerich.
We then took the bus to this place here, the old train station Hollerich.
Von hier aus wurden im 3. Reich Menschen deportiert, daher gibt es hier seit 1996 ein kleines Museum.
From here people were deported during the 3rd Reich, which is why they have set up a little museum here in 1996.
Die Ausstelllung wirkt sehr klein, nur zwei Räume – aber es gibt eine Menge zu lesen.
The exhibition comes across as rather small, with just two rooms – but there is lots to read.
Man erfährt eine Menge darüber, wie mit den Luxemburgern umgegangen wurde. Sie mussten ihr Namen in deutsche Varianten ändern (Henri Dupot hieß auf einmal Heinrich Brückner), durften nicht mehr luxemburgisch und französisch sprechen und es gab für die kleinesten „Vergehen“ Todesurteile.
You learn a lot about how the people of Luxembourg were treated. They had to change their names into German versions (Henri Dupot was suddenly called Heinrich Brückner), they were not allowed to speak Luxembourgish and French and death sentences were handed out for the smallest “offenses”.
Wir fanden die Ausstellung sehr interessant und sind dankbar, dass wir sie überhaupt sehen durften, denn eigentlich war zu! Wir haben geklingelt und durften uns unangemeldet alles ansehen.
We thought the exhibition very interesting and are grateful that we did get to see it at all, because they were really closed! We had rung the bell and were allowed to look at everything even though we did not have a booking or anything.
Dann mussten wir wieder zum Hauptbahnhof, unseren Koffer holen …
Then we had to get back to the main station, to get our suitcase …
… und dann sind wir zum Flughafen.
… and then we went to the airport.
Problem: unser Flug nach Frankfurt hat Verspätung, und wir haben zum Umsteigen nicht viel Zeit …
Problem: our flight to Frankfurt is delayed, and we will not have all that much time for changing planes …
Und dann haben sie uns ewig nicht aus dem Flieger gelassen … und dann fuhr der Bus erst gar nicht und dann ewig … Wir sind sowas von gerannt zu unserem Gate am anderen Ende des Flughafens! Der Flug ist geplant für:
And then they did not let us out of the plane for ages … and then the bus first did not drive at all and then for ages … We ran like crazy to our gate at the other end of the airport! The flight is scheduled for:
16:43 waren wir da … naja …
4:43 pm we were there … oh well …
Wir sind dann um 17:50 oder so geflogen! Aber wir haben das windig-stürmische Bremen rechtzeitig vor dem Gewitter erreicht!
We then took off around 5:50 or so! But we reached the windy / stormy Bremen in time before the thunderstorm started!
