So, es war ganz toll, vor allem können wir die ganzen Karthago-Ausgrabungen sehr empfehlen! Dazu nochmal die Info: an (fast) allen der Sehenswürdigkeiten kann man sich das Tagesticket für 12 tunesische Dinar kaufen, das gilt dann für alle gelisteten Stätten, plus die Kathedrale Saint Louis. Aquädukt und Zisternen sind nicht enthalten, als wir da waren, war da ein Schild „Betreten verboten“, aber da war kein Wachposten und man konnte doch eine Menge sehen.
So, it was absolutely fantastic, and we can especially recommend all the Carthage excavations! Just a reminder: at (almost) all of the sights, you can buy a day ticket for 12 Tunisian dinars, which is valid for all the listed sites, plus the Cathedral of Saint Louis. The aqueduct and cisterns are not included; when we were there, there was a „No Entry“ sign, but there was no guard, and you could still see a lot.
Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten: Die Kathedrale ist sehr schön, außerdem direkt neben dem Museum, lohnt sich doppelt!
Regarding the sights: The cathedral is very beautiful, and it’s right next to the museum, both worth your while!
Dann Dar El-Annabi, wo man sehen kann, wie wohlhabende Leute gewohnt haben, da ist die Adresse in Google Maps falsch, am einfachsten: Man geht die Straße den Berg hoch, die zum Palast Ennejma Ezzahra geht – den Ihr Euch sowieso ansehen müsst! – dann einfach weiter den Hügel hoch gehen, dann kommt eine Querstraße, rechts ist das Art Café, und direkt geradeaus ist der Eingang zu Dar El-Annabi.
Then Dar El-Annabi, where you can see how wealthy people lived, the address in Google Maps is wrong, the easiest way is: Go up the road that leads to the Ennejma Ezzahra Palace – which you absolutely have to see! – then just keep going up the hill, then you’ll come to a cross street, the Art Café is on the right, and the entrance to Dar El-Annabi is straight ahead.
Und wenn Ihr danach in den schmalen Gassen herumwandert – also von Dar-El Annabi kommend nach links, dann werdet Ihr da viele kleine Läden sehen, in denen Ihr Kleidung, Geschirr und alle möglichen Souvenirs kaufen könnt. Wichtig ist aber: da gibt es auch Stände, wo man die leckeren Bambalounis bekommt, bestellt die einfachen mit Zucker und genießt!!!
And if you then wander through the narrow alleys – that is, to the left when leaving Dar-El Annabi – you’ll see many small shops where you can buy clothes, dishes, and all sorts of souvenirs. But most importantly: there are also stalls where you can get the delicious bambalounis; order the basic ones with sugar and enjoy!
Oh, und da waren dann ja auch die Jungs mit den Falken. Entweder Ihr seid fix und wehrt die gleich ab, oder aber Ihr lasst Euch die Falken auf die Fäuste setzen, dann werden sie danach horrende Beträge fordern. Bei uns wollten sie 100 Dinar pro Mann. Ich hab jedem der beiden 10 gegeben, Ende Gelände. Wahrscheinlich immer noch zu viel …
Oh, and then there were those guys with the falcons. Either you’re quick and fend them off right away, or you let them put the falcons on your fists, and then they’ll demand exorbitant sums afterward. They wanted 100 dinars per person from us. I gave each of the two 10, end of story. Probably still too much…
Oft werdet Ihr Taxis nutzen wollen. Auch in Tunis ist es so, dass viele der Taxifahrer einen reinlegen, wir haben einmal deutlich zu viel gezahlt und wurden einmal nicht da hingefahren, wo wir hin wollten .. Aber: ladet Euch die App inDrive herunter. Da gebt Ihr ein, von wo nach wo Ihr das Taxi wollt, Euch wird ein Preis angezeigt, den könnt Ihr akzeptieren oder noch ein bisschen drauflegen, dann wird irgendein Fahrer Eure Anfrage auswählen und flugs da sein. Sehr sehr praktisch und transparent. – Wir werden beim nächsten Besuch auch den Flughafen erst mal zu Fuß verlassen, bis wir zu den gelben inDrive Taxen kommen und von da fahren, die Fahrer am Flughafen sind Halsabschneider! Oh, und wenn Ihr ein Taxi auf der Straße heranwinken wollt: Das grüne Licht im Fenster heißt, der Fahrer hat schon einen Auftrag, nur bei rot ist das Taxi frei. (Ein Fahrer hat sich aber trotz grünen Lichts erbarmt und gehalten, weil er meinte, ich hätte so verzweifelt ausgesehen 😊)
Often you’ll want to use taxis. Like in other places so in Tunis: many taxi drivers try to rip you off. We once paid way too much and another time weren’t taken where we wanted to go… But: download the inDrive app. You enter your starting point and destination, it shows you a price, which you can accept or add a little extra, and then a driver will select your request and come in no time. Very practical and transparent. – On our next visit, we’ll walk out of the airport until we reach the yellow inDrive taxis and take a cab from there. The drivers at the airport are rip-off artists! Oh, and if you want to hail a taxi on the street: a green light in the window means the driver already has a fare; only a red light means the taxi is available. (One driver took pity on us and stopped despite the green light because he said I had looked so desperate 😊)
Ach ja, der Flughafen: Beim Abflug müsst Ihr beim Betreten des Gebäudes schon den ersten Sicherheitscheck durchlaufen.
Oh yes, the airport: When departing, you have to go through the first security check as soon as you enter the building.
Und dann kamen wir in einer große Halle mit Schaltern bis Nummer 38 oder so, aber wir sollten zu 61-64! Naja, vor den anderen Schaltern stehend, muss man sich nach rechts wenden, da ist ein kleiner Durchgang, wo man zu den anderen Schaltern kommt.
Then we arrived in a large hall with counters up to number 38 or so, but we were supposed to go to 61-64! Well, standing in front of the other counters, you have to turn to the right; there’s a small passageway that leads to the other counters.
Ach und beim nächsten Sicherheitscheck mussten alle die Schuhe ausziehen, aber der Laptop durfte in der Tasche bleiben …. 😊
Oh, and at the next security check, everyone had to take off their shoes, but laptops were allowed to stay in bags…. 😊
