Heute sind wir wieder früh los, um 7:35 waren wir schon unten an der Küste und haben ein Kajak gemietet!
Today we once again left early, at 7:35 a.m. we were already down at the coast and rented a kayak!
Mit dem sind wir dann über die Bucht (Kealakekua Bay) zum Cook Monument gepaddelt.
With that we then paddled across the bay (Kealakekua Bay) to the Cook monument.
Leider blieb es den ganzen Tag sehr wolkig, also eher grau. Aber das Wasser war schön blau.
Unfortunately it stayed very cloudy all day, so rather grey. But the water was nicely blue.
Schon aus dem Kajak haben wir gelbe Fische gesehen.
From the kayak we could already spot yellow fish.
Auf der anderen Seite der Bucht waren wir dann schorcheln und … ???!!!??? … was haben wir gesehen??? Einen gefleckten Adlerrochen! WUNDERSCHÖN! – Aber im Wasser war es recht kühl, und um zehn kamen die Touristenboote … da sind wir dann wieder zurück.
On the other side of the bay we then went snorkeling and … ???!!!??? … what did we see??? A spotted eagle ray! GORGEOUS! – But in the water it was rather chilly, and around ten the tourist ships arrived … and we left.
Dann sind wir wieder zum Schildkröten-Strand. Genau 20 haben wir heute gesehen.
Then we went back to the turtle beach. Exactly 20 we saw today.
Und einen Nachtreiher.
And a black-crowned night heron.
Morgen gehts schon wieder weiter, nach Volcano. Mal sehen, was wir da dann so entdecken …
