Stockholm also. Unser Hotel war in Kungsholmen. Und wie überall in Stockholm musste man nicht weit laufen bis man am Wasser war.
So, Stockholm. Our hotel was in Kungsholmen. And as in most places in Stockholm, we did not have to walk far until we came to the waterfront.
An unserem ersten Tag vor Ort sind wir also ein schönes Stück spazieren gegangen.
That’s why on our first day in the city, we went for a nice long stroll.
Bis zum Rathaus, dem Stadshuset.
All the way to the town hall, the stadshuset.
Von außen ist es ein ganz nettes Gebäude, mit Efeu bewachsen.
From the outside it is quite a nice building, overgrown with ivy.

Und eins vom Dach. Da sind viele Figuren aus der schwedischen Geschichte verteilt.

Und natürlich liegt auch das Rathaus direkt am Wasser.
And naturally, the town hall also is situated right by the water.
Aber natürlich wollten wir diese Sehenswürdigkeit auch von innen sehen.
But of course we also wanted to see this landmark from the inside.
Als erstes sind wir in die „blaue Halle“. Wie man sieht, ist sie nicht sehr blau.
First we were in the „Blue Hall“. As you can see, it is not very blue.
Der Architekt hat sich umentschieden, als er sah, wie schön die Halle in ihrem Naturzustand aussieht.
The architect changed his mind when he saw how pretty the hall looks in its natural state.
In der Halle wird das Bankett der Nobelpreisträger abgehalten. Dabei wird es ziemlich eng, mit über 1200 Leuten!
Here in the hall the banquet of the Nobel prize winners is held. During that it gets quite crowded, with over 1200 people!
Wir sind weiter in den Rathaussaal. Hier versammelt sich der Rat montags. Besonders sehenswert ist dort die Decke:
We walked on into the Council Chamber. Here the council meets on Mondays. Really worth seeing there is the ceiling:
Und mit den hübschen Leuchtern sieht alles noch schöner aus:
And with the pretty chandeliers it looks even better:
Dann sind wir weitergeführt worden. – Natürlich gibt es hier nur geführte Touren, schließlich arbeiten hier täglich Politiker.
Then we were directed to walk on. – Of course here you can only join guided tours, after all, politicians work here every day.
In der Prinzengallerie gibt es eine tolle Wand zu bestaunen. Prinz Eugen höchstpersönlich hat sie bemalt.
In the Prince’s Gallery one can admire a gorgeous wall. Prince Eugen himself painted it.
Und dann sind wir in die goldene Halle gekommen. Sehr beeindruckend – aber die Fotos können die Pracht nicht wirklich wiedergeben.
And then we came to the Golden Hall. Very impressive – but the pictures don’t really do the immense glory justice.
