Viele Leute hatten uns schon in Deutschland gesagt, dass die Australier so nett seien. – Und das können wir 100% bestätigen. Die netten Damen in Rubyvale, wo wir nach Saphiren gesucht haben. Da haben wir auch einen sehr guten Tipp für das nächste Motel gekriegt, und die Unterkunft in Springsure war wirklich gut! Als wir abends recht spät aus dem Nationalpark wiederkamen, hatte das Restaurant schon lange zu. Doch als wir an der Rezeption unseren Aufenthalt um eine weitere Nacht verlängern wollten, wurden wir gleich gefragt, ob wir Hunger hätten … und dann hat der Koch uns noch Salate und Chicken Wings gezaubert. Oder Brad an der Opalmine, der brav jede Frage, die eine gewisse Rothaarige hatte, beantwortet hat, so ein wundervoller Mensch! Und dann der andere Herr an der Mine, nennen wir ihn einfach Weihnachtsmann … Und die Damen vom Souveniershop beim AQWA, und Marc beim General Merchant, wo wir heute köstlichst gegessen haben. Nicht zu vergessen Ernie und Kaylene, in deren Motel in Blackwater wir uns so wohl gefühlt haben. Fazit: Australien ist wunderschön. Aber eben nicht nur die Landschaften und die wunderbare Tierwelt, die Zweibeiner sind der Hit!!!
Many people had told us in Germany already that Australians are such very friendly people. – And that we can confirm 100%. The friendly ladies in Rubyvale, where we fossicked for sapphires. From them we also got a good tip for the next motel, and the accomodation in Springsure was really good! When we came back from the national park, quite late, the restaurant was long closed. But when at the reception we wanted to prolong our stay by another night, we got asked right away whether we were hungry … and then the cook whipped up some salads and chicken wings for us. Or Brad at the opal mine, who nicely answered every question that a certain redhead had, such a wonderful person! And then the other gentleman at the mine, let’s simply call him Santa … And the ladies from the souvenir shop at the AQWA, and Marc at the General Merchant where this evening we had a scrumptious dinner. Not to forget Ernie and Kaylene in whose motel in Blackwater we felt very much at home. Conclusion: Australia is wonderful. But not just the landscapes and the terrific wildlife, the two-legged creatures are the best!!!
