Wir sind dann in den Nachmittag geflogen, den wir nutzen wollten, um ein paar Sachen in Lublin anzusehen, die wir am Vortag nicht geschafft hatten. Die eine Kirche wurde wieder nichts … da wurde wieder eine Messe abgehalten.
We then flew into the afternoon, which we wanted to make good use of to look at a few things in Lublin which on the day before we had not gotten around to. That one church did not work out once again … yet again a service was in progress.
Doch direkt bei der Kirche war auch ein Turm, den durften wir jetzt besteigen. Das ist der Trinitarische Turm von außen:
But close to the church was also a tower, that we were allowed to explore. Here you see the Trinitarian Tower from the outside:

Erst waren da Ziegel und diese Wendeltreppe, dann hat sich alles geöffnet und da war viel schönes altes Holz.
First there were bricks and a circular stairwell, then it all opened up and there was much nice old wood.
Dazwischen gab es eine Menge zu sehen: alle möglichen Skulpturen …
In between there was lots to see: all kinds of sculptures …
… etliche Särge …
… several coffins …
… und dann auf einmal Musikinstrumente!
… and then all of a sudden musical instruments!
Ach so, und Glocken gab es auch!
Oh, I forgot, and there were bells as well!
An manchen Stellen konnte man Sorge haben, ob der Turm auch gut zusammenhält:
At some spots you could get an uneasy feeling, whether the tower will hold up well:
Und dann waren wir fast oben.
And then we were almost all the way up.
Noch ein schneller Blick nach unten, dann ging es nach draußen.
One more quick look down, then we went outside.
Das ist übrigens die besagte Kirche:

Mal wieder ein Blick auf die Burg … das wird unser nächstes Ziel sein.
Once again a look at the castle … that will be our next destination.
Und dann sind wir durch die Gänge innen noch ein bisschen herumgelaufen, bevor es wieder nach unten ging.
And then we walked around a bit down the hallways inside, before we went back down all the way.
Oh, was wir auch von oben gesehen haben: da war ein Markt.
Oh, something we had also seen from above: there was a market.
Den haben wir uns natürlich auch angesehen:

Und dann, wie gesagt, wieder zur Burg. Den Bergfried kenn Ihr ja schon von außen, und das Gebäude dahinter, da ist eine Kirche drin, die Dreifaltigkeitskirche.
And then, as I mentioned, back to the castle. The donjon you know already from the outside, and the building behind it, in that you find a church, the Chapel of the Holy Trinity.
Die ist ganz phänomenal bemalt!!! Die Fresken sind aus dem 15. Jahrhundert.
It is fantastically painted!!! The frescoes are from the 15th century.
König Kasimir der Große hat sie errichten lassen.
King Casimier the Great had it erected.
Die Kirche ist eines der ältesten und wertvollsten Denkmäler mittelalterlicher Kunst in Polen und ganz Europa.
The church is one of the oldest and most valuable landmarks of medieval art not only in Poland but also in Europe.
Zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde das Innere der Kirche mit einer Putzschicht überzogen. 1899 entdeckte der Maler Józef Smolinski die Malereien, und es dauerte bis 1997, bis alles wieder freigelegt war!
At the beginning of the 19th century the inside of the church was covered with a layer of plaster. 1899 the painter Józef Smolinski discovered the paintings, and it took till 1997 until all was uncovered!
Und dann haben wir auch hier den Turm erklommen (in Türmen gibt es ja oft Kobolde …):
And then here as well we climbed up the tower (in towers as you know, you often find goblins …):
Niedrig waren die Gänge hier!
The hallways were very low here!
Und dann haben wir das Licht gesehen:

Dann haben wir diesen schönen Ort schon wieder verlassen müssen.
But then we already had to leave this pretty town again.
Unterwegs haben wir Störche gesehen.
On the way we spotted storks.

Dann sind wir wieder nach Warschau, und von dort sind wir wieder einmal weitergeflogen.
Then we went back again to Warsaw, and from there we yet again flew a bit.
