Torben hatte für uns ein ganz wunderbares Hotel gefunden, das Francuski.

Wir fühlten uns ein bisschen wie in einem alten Film.

Wir hatten ein großes Schlafzimmer, ein süßes Vorzimmer, wo es Kaffee, Tee und Kekse gab …

… und natürlich ein Badezimmer.

Tja, das meiste vom Tag war schon rum, aber so einen kleinen Ausflug in die Stadt haben wir natürlich noch gemacht … einfach mal sehen, was wir so erspähen.
Well, most of the day had passed already, but of course we did go on a little tour of the city … we just wanted to take a peek at what we might spot.
Hier das Slowacki Theater, errichtet 1891 bis 1893.

Dies war das erste Gebäude in der Stadt, das elektrisches Licht besaß.
This was the very first building of the town with electrical lighting.
Es stehen noch Teile der alten Stadtmauer. In dem Turm im Hintergrund ist das Florianstor, das letzte erhaltene Stadttor.
Pieces of the old town wall are still standing. The tower in the background houses the St. Florian’s Gate, the last remaining city gate.
Am Turm sieht man auch das Wappenschild von Polen, den weißen Adler.
At the tower you can see the coat of arms of Poland, the white eagle.
Der Stadtmauer vorgelagert war der Barbakan, in Form einer runden Bastion.
An outpost of the town hall was the Barbican, in the shape of a round bastion.
Davor war eine Ausstellung von Karikaturen des Künstlers Slawomir Mrozek.
In front of it there was an exhibition of cartoons by the artist Slawomir Mrozek.
Er hat auch Theaterstücke geschrieben. Zum Beispiel „Auf hoher See“, da hat die Kirsche in München mitgespielt, ein tolles absurdes Stück.
He also wrote theater plays. For example „Out at Sea“, in which Kirsche got to star in Munich, a wonderful piece of absurdist fiction.
Dieses Bauwerk müssen wir auf jeden Fall an den nächsten Tagen genauer erkunden!
