Am Sonntag sind wir ins Grüne. Zuerst in einen ganz kleinen Park – der lag auf dem Weg: Parc de les Aigües 1978.
On Sunday we stayed outside. First we went to a tiny little park – we were walking that direction anyhow: Parc de les Aigües 1978
Da haben wir bei wunderschönem Wetter wieder eine ganze Weile den Mönchssittichen zugesehen.
There, in the beautiful weather, we once again watched monk parakeets for a while.
Auf der anderen Seite des Parks sahen wir ein spannendes Haus.
At the other end of the park we saw an interesting house.
Wovon wir übrigens sehr viele gesehen haben: Bemalte Garagentore oder Jalousien vor Geschäften …
Of which we saw quite a few by the way: Painted garage doors or blinds in front of shops …
… oder auch Apotheken.
… or also pharmacies.
Und dann haben wir unser eigentliches erstes Ziel erreicht: Den Park Güell, den Eusebi Güell von dem berühmten Architekten Antoni Gaudi hat planen lassen.
And then we reached our first real destination today: The park Güell, which Eusebi Güell got the famous architect Antoni Gaudi to plan.
Wir sind in einem Bogen den äußeren Teil des Parks entlanggelaufen, den zentralen Teil haben wir uns nicht angesehen.
We walked along the outer parts of the park, we did not look at the central area.
Nicht, weil wir es nicht vorgehabt hätten …
Not that we had not originally planned to …
… uns war einfach zuviel Trubel.
… there was simply too much hustle and bustle.
Schon von weitem hat man hören können, wieviele Leute da bei einer Menge Lärm unterwegs waren. Und schon von weitem hat uns das totaaaal gestresst:
From far away already you could hear what a crowd was assembled there, with the noise to go with it. And from far away already, that reeeeally stressed us:
Wir haben ein paar schöne Blicke über die Stadt genossen …
We enjoyed a few nice views across the city …
… haben im Vorbeigehen nette Gebäude entdeckt …
… discovered nice buildings along the way …
… und nicht nur nette Gebäude sondern auch nette Tierchen!!! Große schwarze Bienen mit dunkelblauen Flügeln …
… and not just nice buildings but also nice animals!!! Big black bees with dark blue wings …
… wunderschöne Segelfalter …
… gorgeous swallowtail …
… oh! Und was mag das für ein Tierchen sein?
… oh! And what animal might that be?
Bevor wir vor all den Leuten und dem Trubel flüchten (Musikanten, Brillenverkäufer … Ihr kennt das sicher), schauen wir uns noch den Hügel mit den drei Kreuzen an.
Before we run away from all the people and the ado (musicians, sunglasses vendors … I am sure you know that), we will take a look at the hill with the three crosses.
In den ältesten Plänen für den Park war für diesen Ort wohl auch eine kleine Kapelle geplant.
In the oldest plans for the park, it seems a small chapel was also planned for this location.
Noch ein letzter Blick über die Stadt, direkt auf die berühmte Sagrada Familia (noch ein Werk von Gaudi) …
One last look across the city, directly towards the famous Sagrada Familia (another oeuvre by Gaudi) …
… und dann sind wir den Hügel runter, zwischen den Häusern, auf Rolltreppen!!!
… and then we went down the hill, between the houses, on escalators!!!
Auf zur Plaza de España, da gibt es eine ganze Menge zu sehen … Als erste die Las Arenas, eine frühere Stierkampfarena:
On to the Plaza de España, there you find a whole lot to see … First of all the Las Arenas, a former bullfighting arena:
Innen drin ist jetzt eine Shopping Mall mit allem drum und dran.
Inside there is now a shopping mall with all the trimmings.
Eine spannende Kombination!
A fascinating combination!
Aber das beste ist: Ganz oben gibt es eine Reihe Restaurants und um die herum eine breite Dachterrasse. Rundum tolle Blicke auf die Stadt, und vor allem natürlich auf den tollen Platz und die dortigen Bauten.
But the best thing is: Right at the top there are a number of restaurants, and around those, a wide roof-top terrace. All around great views across the city, and especially down to the great square and the buildings there.
Hab ich die Restaurants erwähnt? Hunger!
Did I mention the restaurants? We’re hungry!

Hier das Monument España Ofrecida a Dios, übersetzt so in etwa: Spanien, Gott geweiht.
Here the monument España Ofrecida a Dios, translated something like: Spain, offered to God.
Für die Weltausstellung 1929 wurden all diese Sehenswürdigkeiten gebaut, wie auch das MNAC, das Museu Nacional d´Art de Catalunya.
For the world exhibition 1929 all these landmarks had been erected, among them also the MNAC, the Museu Nacional d´Art de Catalunya.
Auf dem Weg wieder aus der Arena haben wir bei der Kinderecke Stop gemacht … da durfte man abwechselnd auf Blätter, Herzen oder Wolken treten.
On our way back out of the arena, we stopped at the children’s area … there in turn you were allowed to step on leaves, hearts or clouds.
Unten am Platz waren wir genau zum richtigen Zeitpunkt da: Eine Demonstration, der 8. März war ja internationaler Frauentag.
Down at the square we were at the exact right point in time: A demonstration, March 8 was International Women’s Day.
Das war für uns vor allem schön, weil auf diese Weise der ganze Verkehr eine Weile gestoppt wurde, da hatte man Zeit, sich den Brunnen genauer anzusehen.
For us that was especially nice, because that way all traffic was stopped for a while, and thus we had time to really enjoy looking at the fountain.
Und jetzt sehen wir uns – immerhin von außen – das MNAC noch ein bisschen an.
And now we will take a bit of a look at the MNAC – at least from the outside.
Davor mal wieder die geschwätzigen Mönchssittiche.
On the way once again the talkative monk parakeets.
Der hier hat sich beobachtet gefühlt, mich dann einmal ganz schief angesehen …
This one here obviously noticed I was watching, he gave me the hairy eyeball …
… und dann Akrobatik vorgeführt. Übrigens: das ist die einzige Papageienart, die wirkliche Nester aus Zweigen baut.
… and then performed some acrobatics. By the way: that is the only parrot species that really builds nests out of twigs.
Wir haben uns losgerissen und sind weitergelaufen: Ein sehr schöner Bau, und die Treppen und so weiter drum herum, alles sehr hübsch!
We finally tore ourselves away and walked on: A very pretty construction, and then the stairs and everything else surrounding it, gorgeous!
Hier mal der Blick in die andere Richtung, zurück zur Arena, mit den großen venetianischen Türmen kurz davor. Sie sind übrigens 47 Meter hoch.
Here for once a look in the other direction, back to the arena, with the large venetian towers right in front. By the way, they are 47 meters high.
So, wir gehen jetzt mal wieder zurück zum Hotel, und schon wieder über Freiland-Rolltreppen.
Okay, we will now once again go back to the hotel, and once again via outdoor escalators.
