Tja, wir sind ja gestern abend ein bisschen herumgelaufen. Und da haben wir außer dem Strand auch dies gefunden:
Well, as we told you, yesterday evening we went for a bit of a stroll. And there we had found not just the beach, but also this:
Das mussten wir uns ansehen. Wir hatten im Internet nachgelesen: Werke von Monet werden an die Wand projiziert, damit man darin „eintauchen“ kann.
That we just had to take a look at. We had read up on it on line: Art by Monet is projected on the wall, so that you can „immerse“ yourself in it.
Nun, erst gab es ein bisschen Text zu lesen (leider nicht in English, aber wir haben genug verstanden, um zumindest die Themen zu verstehen, Licht, Bewegung etc.), dann ging es in einen großen Raum. Da waren Sitzblöcke verteilt, wir haben uns hingesetzt, und um uns herum war Monet.
Okay, first there was a bit of text to read (unfortunately not in English, but we understood enough to at least know the main topics, light, movement etc.), then we walked into a large room. On the floor there were cubes to sit on, so we sat down, and all around us there was Monet.
So wie hier mit dem Zug wurde oft „Realität“ über die Bilder von Monet bewegt. Oder aber, wie unten, es wurde etwas realistisch dargestellt …
Just like here with the train, often „reality“ was moving in front of Monet’s paintings. Or, like below, something was shown in a realistic way …
… und dann ist ein Gemälde von Monet daraus / darin erwachsen.
… and then a painting by Monet grew out of it / in it.
Dabei waren immer mal wieder kleine Textpassagen eingeblendet, die uns von den Stationen im Leben des Malers erzählten. Venedig zum Beispiel.
With that, often short text passages were included, which told us of the different locations where the painter used to live. Venice for example.
Immer wieder sind die realitätsnahen Abbildungen mit den Werken Monets verschmolzen.
Again and again the realistic pictures merged into Monet’s creations.
Oft war es auch, als ob die Farbpunkte wie ein Schwarm Bienen über die Wände zogen, um sich dann als Gemälde niederzulassen.
And often it was as if the dots of colour – like a swarm of bees – flew across the walls, to then settle down as a painting.
Doch auch der Boden war integriert. Gerade bei den Seerosenbildern war es, als säßen wir alle auf kleinen Inseln im Wasser. Um uns herum schwammen Fische, das Wasser zog Kreise …
But the floor was also part of the performance. Most noticeable with the water lily paintings: it was as if we were all sitting on little islands in the water. All around us, there were fishes swimming, ripples expanding across the water …
Und all das war immer mit Musik unterlegt.
And all this was always accompanied by music.
Manchmal gab es die Wände entlang ganze Bilderreihen zu sehen.
Sometimes, along the walls you could see whole series‘ of paintings.
So wie die Fische im Wasser über den Boden schwammen, waren auf den Wänden auch immer wieder Tiere zu sehen. Libellen, Vögel …
Just like with the fish that swam across the floor, often there were also animals on the walls. Dragonflies, birds …
Das war eine ganz tolle Erfahrung. Wir sind in den Bildern, der Bewegung, der Musik versunken, zerflossen … ganz wunderbar!!!
That was a really great experience. In all the paintings, the movement, the music we just got lost, melting away … just wonderful!!!
Aber dann war es vorbei … Der Bahnhof hat sich wieder langsam aufgebaut.
But then it was over … The train station once again slowly assembled itself.
Wir hatten übrigens ein wahnsinniges Glück, dass wir dies alles überhaupt sehen konnten! Von den Zeiten her war das die einzige Möglichkeit, morgen an unserem Abreisetag hätte es erst um elf Uhr morgens die erste Vorstellung gegeben – das hätte uns den ganzen Tag zerrissen. – Wir hatten ja im Internet nachgelesen, Eintritt 9€. Aber wie wir da ins Gebäude kamen, gab es schon eine lange Schlange zum Eingang der Ausstellung, und die Kasse war gar nicht besetzt. Also stellte Torben sich in die Schlange, und ich habe mich an den Tresen gestellt, aber da kam auch niemand. Alle hatten wohl schon lange Karten! (und es gibt ein Limit) Doch dann kam eine Dame aus der Schlange zu mir und sprach mich an: Sie und ihr Mann hatten vier Karten gekauft, doch ihre Töchter hatten keine Zeit gehabt, also könnten wir die beiden überzähligen haben, für 10€ das Stück. Und da habe ich gesehen, dass am Sonntag der Eintritt eigentlich 16,50€ pro Person war, aber die Dame hatte ein Spezialangebot wahrgenommen. – Also hatten wir das Glück, dass wir überhaupt in die Austellung kamen und dass wir die Tickets auch noch supergünstig gekriegt haben!
By the way, we were extremely lucky that we did actually get to see all this! Regarding the opening times of the exhibition this was our only chance, tomorrow on our day of departure, the first chance would have been at eleven in the morning – that would have mixed up our whole day. – Now, on the internet we had read up on this, entry fee 9€. But once we entered the building, there was a long queue inside already at the entrance to the show, and the cash desk was not manned at all. So Torben got to the end of the queue, and I went to the counter, but nobody came. It seemed that everybody had long since bought the tickets! (and there is a limit) But then a lady came up to me and addressed me: She and her husband had bought four tickets, but their daughters did not have time today, so we could have the two extra tickets, for 10€ a piece. And that was when I saw that for Sunday the entry fee would actually have been 16,50€ per person, but that lady had used a special offer. – So we hat the incredible luck that we got into the exhibition at all, and that on top of that we got the tickets for an extremely good price!
