Nach einem Tag Pause in unserer netten neuen Ferienwohnung wollen wir heute wandern gehen. Leider scheint es in den Vogesen sehr wolking zu sein, mal sehen … Auf jeden Fall haben wir uns in unserem Wanderbuch eine tolle Strecke ausgesucht, mit Höhle und allem drum und dran.
After a day of rest in our nice new vacation apartment, we want to go for a hike today. Unfortunately it seems to be quite cloudy in the Vosges, so let’s see … In any case, in our hiking book we had selected a great trail, complete with a cave and everything.
Und Torben hat ein neues Navi-Programm heruntergeladen, das probieren wir heute. Perfekt! Es führt uns in eine totale Sackgasse in den Bergen, zwischen Baustelle und Einbahnstraße … Also entscheiden wir uns vor Ort um, wir machen eine andere Wanderung, die in der Nähe beginnt: Unser Startpunkt is der Lac Noir, der „schwarze See“, auf 950m.
And Torben downloaded a new navigation app, which we will give a try today. Perfect! It leads us into a total dead end in the mountains, between a construction site and a one-way street … So right there and then we change our plan and select a different hike that starts nearby: Our starting point is the Lac Noir, the „black lake“, at 950m.
Das Buch beschreibt sehr gut, welchem der Wege wir folgen sollen, also los gehts!
The book describes very well which of the different paths we are to follow, so off we go!
Es geht stetig leicht bergauf und die Wege sind durchaus nicht langweilig. Man muss aufpassen, wo man hintritt.
We are on a steady uphill slope, and the trails are definitely not boring. You have to pay attention where you are going.
Hier und da kann man durch die Bäume hinunter auf den See blicken.
Here and there you can have a look through the trees, down to the lake.
Die Wolken auf der Herfahrt hatten es schon ahnen lassen: Es ist durchaus kühl und der Himmel eher grau. Immer mal wieder nieselt es kurz.
The clouds on the drive here already gave us a good inkling: It is quite cool, and the sky is rather grey. Time and again it drizzled a bit.
Aber beim Wandern wird uns warm, und wenn auch die Fernsicht nicht so toll ist, ganz nah gibts auch viel zu sehen:
But the hiking gets us warmed up, and even though the view across the land is not that great, there is much to see much closer by:
Fliegenpilze haben wir jede Menge gesehen. Und dann die hier, die sich an ein Bäumchen klammern: (ich hab lang im Netz gesucht … vielleicht ist das ein Birkenporling?)
Fly agarics we saw lots of. And then these here, which seem to clutch at a little tree: (I searched the net for quite a while … maybe this might be a birch polypore?)
Doch wie schon erwähnt, wir müssen die meiste Zeit nach unten sehen, hier kann man sehr leicht stolpern, wenn man nicht aufpasst.
But as I mentioned already, we have to look down at the ground most of the time, here one can stumble quite easily, when not paying attention.
Also muss man immer mal wieder stehen bleiben, um zu sehen, was da alles schönes um uns herum ist. – Kein Wunder, dass wir immer viel länger brauchen als die Wanderbücher angeben!
So every once in a while you have to take a stop and look around at all the beauty around us. – No wonder that we always need much more time than the hiking books state!
Viele Bienen haben wir gesehen …
We saw many bees …
… und immer wieder Fingerhut.
… and time and again foxglove.
Jede Menge verschiedene Pilze natürlich auch.
And of course also all kinds of different mushrooms.
Und Kühe!
And cows!
Leider sieht man: das Wetter wird nicht besser, der Himmel ist ein einziges schmutzigweiß.
Unfortunately you can see: the weather is not getting any better, the sky is a uniform dirty white.
Doch auch so ist die Wanderung spannend. Das Gelände ändert sich immer wieder. Nach Waldpfaden und dann offener Wiese kommt jetzt Geröll.
But even so the hike is very interesting. The terrain keeps changing. After trails through the forest and then an open meadow we not get to boulders.

Aber wir sollten vielleicht doch mehr gehen und weniger schauen. Die Wolken verheißen nichts Gutes!
But maybe wew should rather walk more than look around. These clouds don’t bode well!
Immerhin haben wir den Lac Blanc erreicht, den „weißen See“. Warum er diesen Namen hat, kann man wohl bei Sonnenschein sehen …
At least we have reached the Lac Blanc, the „white lake“. Why it carries this name, you can probably see when the sun shines …
Aber ohne Sonnenlicht, das vom Wasser gespiegelt wird, können wir immerhin die Fische im Wasser erahnen.
But without the sunlight mirrored by the water, we can at least get an idea of the fishes in the water.
Jetzt geht es halb um den See herum.
Now we walk halfway around the lake.
Hier sehen wir eine Menge Vögel. Eine Gebirgsstelze zum Beispiel, die sehr flink unterwegs war und immer weiter von uns weggehüpft ist.
Here we see a lot of birds. A grey wagtail for example, which was very quick on its feet and kept hopping farther away from us.
Und hier jetzt: finde den Vogel!
And here now: find the bird!
Oder besser gesagt, gleich drei! Selbst in diesem stark vergrößerten Ausschnitt sind sie noch schwer zu entdecken!
Or rather, not one but three! Even in this very much enlarged cut-out they are still quite difficult to spot!
Weiter gehts, wieder bergauf.
Onwards we go, once again uphill.
Da unten liegt der See …
Down there lies the lake …
Doch der Himmel bleibt grau. Schade.
But the sky remains grey. Too bad.
Das findet bestimmt auch das Rotkehlchen!
Certainly the robin thinks so as well!
Schön, dass sich die Vögel trotz des Wetters nicht verjagen lassen! Hier seht Ihr eine Haubenmeise im Abflug.
Nice, that the birds don’t let the bad weather scare them off! Here you see a crested tit just taking off.
Das hier ist ein Sommergoldhähnchen. So auffällig der Streifen am Kopf auch aussieht, wenn sich der kleine Kerl in all dem Laub nicht rührt, sieht man ihn nicht!
This here is a firecrest. As flashy as that stripe on its head looks, when that little guy does not move amonst all the leaves, you don’t spot it!

Und so sieht sie „von unten und hinten“ aus 🙂

Noch ein Blick hinunter auf den Lac Blanc.
One last look down to the Lac Blanc.
Und dann müssen wir uns entscheiden: Die Wanderung geht jetzt eigentlich noch weit entlang des Bergkamms und dann zu einem dritten See. Doch der tolle Ausblick, für den dieser Weg bekannt ist, wird uns verwehrt bleiben.
And then we have to decide: The hike is supposed to now go on for quite a while along the crest and then to a third lake. But the great views that this trail is known for, we will be denied.
Also beschließen wir, eine Abkürzung zu nehmen. Wir haben keine Lust, bei Regen zu wandern.
So we decide to take a short cut. We do not feel like hiking in the rain.
Also wieder der Blick aufs Kleine, Nahe. Dabei entdeckt Torben einen Waldmistkäfer.
So once again the eyes go to the small and near. And in that Torben discovers a forest dung beetle.
Und hier ist ein Fliegenpilz mit Sturmfrisur …
And here you see a fly agaric with wind-blown hair …
Ist dieses rot nicht toll? Übrigens haben wir gelesen, dass die weißen Punkte abgewaschen werden können. Da war also der Regen am Werk!
Is this red not gorgeous? By the way, we read that the white spots can be washed off. So here the rain was at work!
Es ist nicht zu glauben! Jetzt, wo wir schon auf dem Weg hinunter zum Lac Noir sind, kommt die Sonne heraus!
It is just unbelievable! Now, that we are already on the way down to Lac Noir, the sun comes out!

Well.
Aber wir drehen jetzt nicht noch einmal um … wer weiß, wie lange das Wetter hält.
But we will not turn around now … who knows how long this weather will hold.
Auch wenn selbst die Haubenmeise gleich Schatten sucht.

Also kommen wir bei blauem Himmel wieder am Ausgangspunkt unserer Wanderung an.
So we get back to our starting point of our hike under a blue sky.
Schön wars! Wir sind vier Stunden gewandert, jetzt gehts zurück nach Colmar.
It was very nice! We hiked for four hours, now we drive back to Colmar.
