Los geht der Tag wieder ganz wunderbar mit einem tollen Frühstück.
The day starts once again wonderfully nice with a delicious breakfast.
Allein wegen unserer Unterkunft hat sich der Aufenthalt in Victoria schon gelohnt!
Just because of our accomodation the stay in Victoria would have been worth it!

Wir wollten uns ja noch ein bisschen mehr von Victoria ansehen … Als wir ankamen, war es ja sehr regnerisch … und heute sieht es leider nicht viel besser aus. Trotzdem sind wir losgelaufen, um uns anzusehen:
We had wanted to see a bit more of Victoria … When we arrived here, it had been rather rainy … and today unfortunately it does not look much better. But even so we simply started walking, to look at:
Ein schönes „Schloss“, das zwischen 1887 und 1890 für den Kohlemagnaten Robert Dunsmuir gebaut wurde.
A gorgeous „castle“ which had been built between 1887 and 1890 for the coal magnate Robert Dunsmuir.
Dies ist eines der größten und prächtigsten Herrenhäuser des 19. Jahrhunderts im westlichen Kanada.
This is one of the largest and most ornate mansions of the 19th century in Western Canada.
Gut, dass wir wussten, dass das Gebäude nur Freitag bis Sonntag für Besucher geöffnet ist. Sonst hätte ich womöglich trotz des Wetters hochhackige Schuhe angezogen …
Good thing that we knew that the building is only open to visitors on Fridays to Sundays. Who knows, I might otherwise have chosen to wear high heels despite the weather …
Von wegen Wetter: Wir haben uns nicht lange aufgehalten, denn das bisherige Nieseln verwandelte sich zu stetem Regen.
Talking about the weather: We did not stay very long, because the drizzle that had been coming down so far now turned into a steady rain.
Erst sind wir gerannt, aber wozu? Wir waren schnell schön durchnässt … Also sind wir in Ruhe zurück in unser B&B. Da haben wir uns der nassen Klamotten entledigt und eine Pause eingelegt. Und später hat tatsächlich der Regen mal aufgehört. Darum sind wir ins Auto gesprungen und losgefahren:
First we jogged, but what for? Soon we were wet through and through … So we simply walked back to our B&B. There we took off the wet clothes and took a bit of a break. And later on it actually did stop raining for a bit. Which is why we jumped into the car and drove off:
Wir wollten uns den Malahat Skywalk ansehen. Der ist ca. 10km weit weg von Victoria, vielleicht haben wir ja Glück und das Wetter ist da besser? … Tja.
We had planned to take a look at the Malahat Skywalk. That is about 10km away from Victoria, maybe we get lucky and the weather is better there? … Well.
Bei dem Wetter dann doch nicht … Also sind wir weitergefahren, wieder zum Goldstream Provinical Park. Denn da gibt es auch eine kleine Wanderung zu einem Wasserfall, doch die konnten wir gestern nicht machen, weil wir auf der falschen Seite der Straße waren.
Not in this weather, thanks … So we drove on, back to the Goldstream Provinical Park. Because there they have also a short hike to a waterfall. But that we had been unable to do yesterday, because we had been on the wrong side of the street.
Jetzt aber waren wir auf der anderen Seite, und es regnete grad mal nicht!
But now we were on the other side, and for a change it did not rain for a bit!
Die „Wanderung“ war aber wirklich winzig …
The „hike“ though was really short …
… man nimmt einmal vom Parkplatz aus den Weg um die Kurve, und dann sieht man ihn schon.
… from the parking lot you take the path once around the corner and then you see it already.
Spannend: Das Wasser verschwindet zwischen all den Steinen einfach.
Fascinating: The water simply disappears between all those rocks.
Mehr gabs da nicht zu sehen. Und auch Torben hab ich bei dem düsteren Wetter immer mal kaum wiedergefunden.
There was not more to see than that. And Torben I also lost sight of time and again in all this dreary weather.
Aber bei all dem tollen Regen mussten wir ja den Rucksack vor Wasser schützen. Und deswegen hab ich Torben, wenn er sich umdrehte, doch immer wieder gefunden.
But with all that heavy rain we had to protect the backpack from water, of course. And because of that I did manage to find Torben, every time he turned around.
Gehen wir also zum Auto zurück. Wirklich viel haben wir heute nicht gesehen, aber was will man machen bei dem Wetter?
So let us walk back to the car. We did not see all that much today, but what can you do in all this bad weather?
Wir wollen uns also wenigstens ein leckeres Abendessen gönnen und sind wieder zu Bartholomew’s.
So we want to treat ourselves at least to a yummy supper, and thus we went once again to Bartholomew’s.
Da haben wir lecker gegessen und …
There we had some tasty food and …
… richtig Glück gehabt, dass wir am Donnerstag kamen!
… were really lucky that we had come on a Thursday!
Wir hatten so einen riesigen Spaß! Würden wir in der Gegend wohnen, wären wir jeden Donnerstag da!
We had such huge fun! If we lived anywhere in the area, we would go there every Thursday!
Gewonnen haben wir nicht, aber gesungen und gejubelt!
We did not win anything, but we did sing and cheer!
Danach haben wir uns die schöne Beleuchtung des Parlamentsgebäudes angesehen und sind wieder „heim“.
Afterwards we took a look at the gorgeous illumination of the parliament building and then went back „home“.
Eigentlich hatten wir noch die tolle Badewanne schräg vor dem Kamin ausprobieren wollen, aber nach so viel Nässe den ganzen Tag hatten wir dann doch keine Lust mehr …
Originally we had been planning to try out the great bath tub almost opposite the fire place, but after all the humidity all day long, we did not feel like it anymore after all …
