Der zweite Ort von oben, da soll es hingehen, nachdem das letztes Jahr wegen Corona ja nicht geklappt hat! Und heute ist es endlich soweit. Ich hab ja bis zum Schluss nicht glauben können, dass wir es tatsächlich nach Hawaii schaffen, aber hier haben wir gerade in Frankfurt den Flieger bestiegen.
The second destination from the top, that is where we want to go, since last year it did not work out, due to Corona! And today finally is the big day. Right up to the end I could not really dare believe that we would really make it to Hawaii, but here we just got onto the plane in Frankfurt.
Und wenn jetzt der Luftstrom nicht abreißt, schaffen wir es auch bis in die Staaten.
And if now the airflow does not get interrupted, then we will make it to the US.
Und 10,5 Stunden und drei Filme später sind wir auch schon im Landeanflug …
And 10.5 hours and three movies later we are already approaching our landing …

Here the air traffic control tower.
Wir hatten Zeit, uns den Flughafen ausführlich anzusehen und etwas zu essen (und fast im Stehen einzuschlafen …), und dann ging es nach 4,5 Stunden endlich wieder weiter.
We had time to inspect the airport in detail and to eat something (and to almost fall asleep standing …), and then after 4.5 hours we finally traveled on.
Und nach weiteren 6 Stunden waren wir dann endlich in Honolulu, in unserem Zimmer im Airport Hotel. Altmodische Einrichtung? Etwas muffelig? Nicht unbedingt leise, weil direkt beim Flughafen? Häh??? Da gab es BETTEN!
And after further six hours we were finally in Honolulu, in our room in the Airport Hotel. Old fashioned furnishings? A bit musty? Not exactly quiet, because right next to the airport? Wha??? They had BEDS!
