Ja, wir hatten für heute große Pläne … aber das hat nicht so ganz funktioniert. Zuerst sind wir bewusst „in die falsche Richtung“ gelaufen: Wir wollten dann mit einer der alten Straßenbahnen „zurückfahren“, zum hinteren Ende eines Parks, dort ein paar Sachen besichtigen, durch den Park zum Castello Sforzesco wandern, dann das ansehen … Aber die Straßenbahn kam nicht!
Yes, we had great plans for today … but it did not work out all that well. First we went “in the wrong direction” on purpose: We then wanted to “ride back” with one of the old trams, to the far end of a park, where we wanted to visit a few spots, then stroll through the park to the Castello Sforzesco, take a look at that … But the tram never came!

Wir sind dann an vielen historischen Gebäuden vorbei gewandert, zum Beispiel dem Palazzo della Ragione. Der Politiker, der den Bau im 13. Jahrhundert in Auftrag gegeben hat, ist über einer der Säulen verewigt: „Anno Domini 1233. Für den Podestà von Milan, Oldrado die Tresseno. Wenn Ihr durch den majestätischen Säulengang des großartigen Palastes geht, werdet Ihr immer der Verdienste von Podestà Oldrado gedenken […] der den Palast baute und die Katharer brennen ließ, wie es seine Aufgabe war.“
We then ambled past many historical buildings, among them for example the Palazzo della Ragione. The politician who had ordered it built in the 13th century is immortalized above one of the columns: “Anno Domini 1233. To the podesta of Milan, Oldrado di Tresseno. Wir sind durch das große Tor … und ja, es ist jetzt schon ziemlich spät.

Also sind wir ziemlich schnell geflüchtet. Wir wollen ja durch den Park … und der verlassene seitliche Teil der Burg sieht sowieso viel spannender aus!

… fuhr keine Tram mehr in unsere Richtung! Wir sind also wieder in Richtung Dom gelaufen, denn da gibt es ein kleines Kirchlein, das wir uns ansehen wollen: Santa Maria presso San Satiro.

Also wurde ein Trick angewendet: Optisch wird die Illusion von mehr Raum geschaffen als tatsächlich da ist. Das sieht man, wenn man von der Seite kommt.

Natürlich gibt es auch anderes zu sehen: Der Heilige Aloisius von Gonzaga zum Beispiel, der mit nur 23 Jahren starb, nachdem er einen Pestkranken gepflegt hatte.

Wir waren ja noch nicht im Dom-Museum, das hat seit heute wieder auf. Und natürlich gibt es dort silberne Kerzenständer, Reliquien und Büsten zu sehen …

So, noch ein letzter Halt. Weiter oben ist Euch vielleicht aufgefallen, dass links vom Dom ein riesiges Tor steht. Das ist der Eingang zur Luxus-Einkaufsmeile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Okay, one last stop. On an earlier photo you might have noticed that to the left of the cathedral, there is a huge gate. That is the entrance to the luxury shopping promenade Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

… an anderer Stelle standen lauter schwarze Mercedes und wartende Chauffeure … Und auf einmal standen wir vor dem Palazzo di Brera.
… at a different spot a lot of black Mercedes were parked, and there were the chauffeurs waiting … And all of a sudden we were in front of the Palazzo di Brera.
Ursprünglich war hier ein Kloster, 1627 begann der Umbau zur heutigen Form, und jetzt ist hier eine große Kunstausstellung beheimatet. Hier die Skulptur Miracolo.
