So, die Sonnenfinsternis war um ungefähr halb zwei vorbei … also sind wir noch einmal losgefahren.
Well, the solar eclipse had been over by about one thirty … so we left for another excursion.
Nach Port Aransas kommt man mit der Fähre. Mit einer von vielen, die alle parallel fahren!
To Port Aransas you get by taking the ferry. One of many that all run in parallel!

Wir sind zum Port Aransas Nature Reserve …
We went to the Port Aransas Nature Reserve …
… wo der Pfad, den wir nehmen wollten, mit einem Bauzaun versperrt war. Da kam man aber drum herum … doch nicht für lange!
… where the trail that we wanted to take was blocked by a construction fence. But you could slip around it … not for long though!
Also sind wir zu einem anderen Weg. Da flogen eine Menge Insekten herum …
So we went to a different path, where a lot of insects were flying around …
Viele Libellen, winzige Schmetterlinge …
Many dragonflies, tiny butterflies …
… und MÜCKEN! Höchst aggressive, hungrige Viecher! Wir sind geflüchtet und essen jetzt was Nettes!
… and MOSQUITOES! Very aggressive, hungry beasts! We fled and will now have a decent bite to eat!
Es war superlecker!
It was delicious!
Das wars. Bei der Rückfahrt hat sich gezeigt, warum man für das kurze Stück so viele Fähren braucht, wir standen eine halbe Stunde!
That’s all. Driving back, we saw why they need so many ferries for the short stretch, we stood in line for half an hour!
